Position Summary

If you're up to the challenge, ITDS, Inc, is in search of a Safety Manager to support our Operations team.  We are seeking a highly responsive, detailed oriented individual with strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities at any given point.  This role will be based out of our Cincinnati, OH location.

Job Summary

• Lead safety, vehicle, and workplace incident investigations.  Assist insurance company with information.
• Maintain required documentation for federal, state, and local compliance
• Maintain record/audit of all cameras, relays, tablets, geo tab trackers, etc.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct driver safety training
• Oversee driver performance using available technology, road evaluations, and telematics.
• Manage elogs, in-cab cameras, and driver safety training.
• Educate drivers on the use of tablets for elog
• Communicate poor driving habits to drivers.
• Ensure all required telematics and vehicle safety systems are fully functional.
• Handle audits from customers and DOT.
• Coordinate in-cab drive camera installation.
• Provides assistance and training for employees on safety-related issues 

Essential Job Functions and Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of action items, and leverage learning across the organization.
• Work with Operations to implement and manage detailed, proactive systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, company, and local regulations and policies.
• Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and sustainable implementation of Regulatory and Company requirements.
• Manage and investigate all damage, incidents, and repairs involving the trucks and trailers.
• Assist insurance companies with information regarding vehicle collisions or cargo claims.
• Ensure all required telematics and vehicle safety systems are fully functional.
• Support and run any reports necessary to mitigate cargo claims.
• Assist with driver recruiting, interviews, road testing, and training as needed.
• Additional tasks assigned by management as needed.

Deliverables

• Ensure all incidents are documented and investigated
• Conduct daily and weekly compliance audits and risk assessments
• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis as needed
• Ensure transportation assets PM’s and DOT Federal inspections are current

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of safety management experience within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Understanding of FMCSA/DOT regulations, HOS rules, and ELD management systems (e.g., Samsara).
• Strong interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and data analysis capabilities
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize workload.
• Able to communicate effectively both in-person and through written correspondences with candidates, peers, managers, and leadership.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and keep up with a high volume of activity.
• Class A CDL license a plus
• Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
