Assistant Controller
Position Summary:
We are looking for a full-time ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to help take our organizations to the next level. The ideal candidate will have strong financial operations experience and work well in a fast-paced environment to provide support to all levels and departments of the company. This person will report to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer.
General Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the company’s financial planning, reporting and budgeting activities.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, reports to ownership, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Reviews financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identifies development opportunities and improvements that can be made.
- Provides management with short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors to provide information needed for the annual audit.
- Maintains knowledge of organizational procedures, federal and state regulations, and accounting standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Five years or more of related experience required.
- Transportation Industry experience a plus
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Must have demonstrated strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Able to communicate effectively both in-person and through written correspondence with peers, managers, and leadership.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
